Comida y Compania, a revamped restaurant on Plaza Italia, celebrated its
inauguration Thursday 15th August 2013 with good music, food, and company.
Its grand opening was in celebration of an innovative feature for Mendoza: an
Argentinian buffet that is open during the infamous siesta.
The restaurant has developed a place for locals to wine and dine, while the majority
of businesses in Mendoza close between the afternoon hours of 1 to 4pm for the
siesta, which is a longstanding tradition of Argentinian lifestyle and culture.
The event featured the delectable wines from local vineyards within the province,
including Familia Zuccardi and Trapiche, accompanied by some fresh, tasty
empanadas. In addition to the appetizing food the restaurant has to offer, which
includes typical Argentinian dishes like roast chicken and pastas, the vibrant orange
colors of the restaurant walls create a warm, enjoyable atmosphere for its guests.
These bold colors match the exterior of the building, which makes the restaurant
stand out on 25 de Mayo right across the street from the pedestrian filled Plaza
Comida y Compania is opened Sunday through Saturday from 12:00- 3:30 p.m., and at 9:00 p.m. Thursday through Saturday.
